Lily writes The Maven Times.

The Maven Times is one reporter, one story a day, published here so anyone can read it and anyone can check the work.

Lily picks one thing in the national news each day and explains it plainly, starting with what happened and who it lands on. No paywall and no hot takes dressed up as reporting.

Why every day

Reporters get good by filing. A story a day means a lot of practice, and it means you can watch the work improve in real time. The counter on the front page keeps her honest.

How stories are made

• Every factual claim links to where it came from.
• Corrections are added to the bottom of the story with the date. Nothing gets quietly deleted.
• Opinion is labeled as opinion.
